Le Cheile Arts & Music Festival (Oldcastle)
Le Chéile Arts & Music Festival takes place annually on the last week in July. The
festival includes comedy, arts, and music events. In the past Lisa Hannigan, Mundy, &
Jack L, have all performed at the event.

Fleadh Cheoil
The Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann takes place during the month of August in Cavan town,
Co. Cavan. It is the largest festival of music, song and dance with people gathering from
all over the world for this immense cultural celebration.
Mullagh Fair Day
The Mullagh Fair Day is a wonderful family day out with something for everyone
and every age. Entertainment includes Pig Racing, Puppet Theatre, Street Theatre,
Jugglers, Music, Dog Show, Children's Entertainment, Food and Craft Fair, Vintage
Vehicles, and cattle, sheep, horse, and fowl sales. The fair day takes place on the
second Sunday of September each year.
Moynalty Steam Threshing Festival
This festival, which takes place every August in Moynalty, has been running since 1953.
It includes an exhibition of Steam Threshing, Vintage Engines and Machinery. There
is a working demonstration of reaping and binding. The festival also includes displays
of Crafts and museum artifacts, farm animals and birds, horse drawn machinery, side
dhows and dancing deck.
Blue Jean Country Queen Festival
The Athboy ‘Blue Jean Country Queen’ festival is organized by the Meath Macra na
Feirme. The festival takes place in June and includes over 3 days of music, events and

Kells Road Race
The Kells Road Race takes place in July around Crossakiel Village (approx 10 minutes
drive from Clonabreany House). These races are considered to be the best National
Road Races in Ireland attracting top racers.

Kells Summer Festival
The Kells Summer Festival is an annual festival with music, art, children's fun,
fireworks, poetry and sports. The festival takes place each year in July. Contact the

Lakeland Quilt Fair
Since 2000, one of the most significant quilting events in Ireland has taken place
in Ballyjamesduff, County Cavan. This month-long event (in September) is held at
the County Cavan Museum, has been marked by courses taught by some of the
most renowned international and national teachers, by outstanding exhibitions, by

Scurlogstown Olympiad Traditional Haymaking Festival (Trim)
This truly is a festival with a difference promising loads of fun for all the family. The
festival normally takes place in June. Activities includes set dancing, Wren boys, High
Nellie Cycle Race, Slow tractor race, rare breed animals, Crafts and the famous Celtic

Crossroads Céilí
The annual Crossroads Céilí, organised by Cairde Rince Céilí na hÉireann, is held in
Ughtyneill, Co. Meath (2 miles from Moynalty on the Kingscourt road) in July each year.
This unique event has attracted lovers of Céilí dancing from all over Ireland over the last
25 years as well as locals and tourists who wish to witness and take part in this night of
Céilí dancing on the road. There is a hall nearby if it rains.
Killinkere Whit Jamboree
This festival takes place annually over the June bank holiday weekend at the Killinkere
Leisure Centre, Killinkere, Cavan. The four day festival features fashion shows,
parachuting, hot air balloon display, kids entertainment; face painting, playmaking,
bouncy castle, live music.
Virginia Agricultural Show
Regarded as one of the leading agricultural shows, Virginia Show has been running
annually for 70 years. As well as being a showpiece for some of Ireland's finest
livestock, there is a wide selection of classes for garden produce, home industries, fruit
and flowers, photography and handwriting dogs & pets. One of the highlights of the
show is the crowning of the Baileys Irish Champion Dairy Cow. The show takes place

Virginia Pumpkin Festival
This Halloween festival is filled with live music and street entertainers. Activities include:
Ireland's heaviest pumpkins competing for €1,000 prize, children's fancy dress party,
barn dance, food & craft markets, and a firework display at Lough Ramor lakeshore with
live music and food.
National Country Fair - Ballinlough Castle
The Ballinlough Castle Country Fair is a two-day festival of Irish country sports and country life which takes place annually in July-August. Located in the beautiful setting of Ballinlough Castle in Co. Westmeath, this is a major two-day event hosting shooting, fishing and gundog competitions as well as a rural life show featuring crafts, related trade-stands and true family entertainment such as birds of prey and the crack aerobatic team, the Yakovlevs. With free car parking located a five minute walk from the centre of the Castle Estate, visitors can be assured of hassle free parking, fast entry and a pleasurable stroll to the fair through mature, Irish parkland.
