The food and Catering at Clonabreany House is cooked personally and overseen exclusively by our in-house Euro-toques chef Gerard Meade. Gerard is a prominent local chef from Navan with twenty five years experience in hotels and restaurants both in Ireland and abroad. Having trained in leading Irish restaurants of the 1980’s, Le Coq Hardi and Whites on the Green, he went on to work in London, Australia, Canada, Belgium and spent six years in France. He returned to Ireland and has been head chef for Madison Avenue Event Services, formerly one of Ireland’s premier five star private event businesses, where he cooked large banquets, society weddings and gourmet dinner parties and buffet receptions for a wide range of prestigious clients from foreign royalty, international celebrities and ambassadors to industrial and corporate figures, the church and government.
His cooking style specialises in supporting local Irish food suppliers and therefore using fresh high level produce, in season and in line with the ethos of Euro-Toques, the European Community of Chefs, with which he has been a member since 1998.

The food you eat when you select Clonabreany House for your event will be different and there are very good reasons for this. Apart from being cooked by our in-house Euro-toques chef and the integral part you the customer are invited to play in deciding what and how it is done - the reason our food is different is that the quality of ingredients is simply the best available, from local suppliers. We go out of our way to source what is grown and produced in the area so that freshness and quality is top of our criteria so that what ends up on your plate will be the most rewarding culinary experience for your guests. By sourcing directly from quality suppliers means that price is also kept to the best possible value with one transaction and transit involved so that the price you pay is the best possible value too.
Personal Menu Planning
At Clonabreany House we do not make you pick from inflexible set menus – we are here to tailor the menu for you. Your menu is designed by you and our head chef to create an individual personalised culinary feast!
The menu development for your event is a personal and bespoke service whereby you can directly communicate your ideas and wishes with our on-site chef and together produce a menu that will be pleasing to both you and your guests. As Clonabreany House head chef and catering manager, Gerard Meade, is entirely at your disposal to discuss all aspects of the food for the duration of your stay at Clonabreany House.
