Gerard Meade. He is a prominent local chef
from Navan with twenty five years experience in hotels and restaurants
both in Ireland and abroad.
Having trained in leading Irish restaurants of the 1980’s, Le Coq Hardi and Whites on the Green, he went on to work in London
, Australia, Canada, Belgium and six years in France. He returned to Ireland and has been head chef for Madison Avenue Event Services, formerly one of Ireland’s premier five star private event businesses, where he cooked large banquets, society weddings and gourmet dinner parties and buffet receptions for a wide range of prestigious clients from foreign royalty, international celebrities and ambassadors to industrial and corporate figures, the church and government.
His cooking style specialises in supporting local Irish food suppliers and therefore using fresh high level produce, in season and in line with the ethos of Euro-Toques, the European Community of Chefs, with which he has been a member since 1998.
